Join Me in Going Deeper with Jesus through Prayer
Are you satisfied with your prayer life?
If you're like many Christians, you probably wish your prayer life were more consistent, more meaningful, and more effective.
Perhaps you find yourself repeating the same requests, struggling to stay focused, or wondering whether you're really experiencing the kind of communication and communion with God that prayer is meant to be.
I've been there, too.
Prayer has always been one of the Christian disciplines I've struggled with most. I have a great propensity to overcomplicate simple things, and prayer is definitely an area where I've made things more complicated than they need to be.
But I've found great comfort in knowing that even Jesus' disciples struggled with prayer!
In Luke 11, they came to Jesus and said, "Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples."
Notice that they didn't ask Jesus to teach them how to preach, perform miracles, or understand every theological mystery. They asked Him to teach them to pray.
And Jesus' response was beautifully simple. He gave them a pattern to follow: what we commonly call The Lord's Prayer.
But this prayer is more than a collection of words to repeat. It is a wonderful model that teaches us how to approach God, worship Him, seek His will, depend on His provision, confess our sins, and ask for His help.
When I began to understand the Lord's Prayer this way, it changed how I approached prayer. Instead of feeling overwhelmed by everything I thought I should pray about, I had a simple, biblical framework to guide me.
And that brings me to our new Good Morning Girls Bible study!
Going Deeper in Prayer
Our next study will help us explore what it means to develop a deeper, more intentional prayer life through the example Jesus gave His disciples.
We'll look more closely at the Lord's Prayer and discover how its pattern can help us grow in our communication and communion with God.
Because effective prayer isn't about finding the perfect words or following a complicated formula. It's about learning to draw near to our heavenly Father and bringing every part of our lives before Him.
James 5:16 reminds us:
"The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much."
I want us to grow in our understanding of what it means to pray effective, fervent prayers—not by making prayer more complicated, but by learning to approach it with greater understanding and purpose.
Years ago, I created a simple prayer journal organized around the different parts of the Lord's Prayer. It helped me stay focused and remember the people and needs I had committed to pray for. That practical experience is one of the reasons I'm so excited to explore this subject with you.
Will you join us as we go deeper in prayer?
I'm looking forward to opening God's Word together, learning from Jesus' example, and growing in this essential part of our walk with Him.
Let's learn to pray—not just more often, but with greater understanding, purpose, and intimacy with our Father.
